Crossroads of the Universe, July 3rd, 2010

While the proud new parents of niece Stella prepared for the final night in the hospital I seized the opportunity to head into the city to see how the holiday weekend crowds were faring. As temperatures began to climb in advance of the official "heat wave," tourists and city dwellers alike chose to take in the scenery from the pedestrian plaza, share their talents on the many publicly installed pianos scattered throughout Times Square, meet and have their picture takent with the Naked Cowgirl and generally take a collective moment to enjoy their surroundings. Though the heat index was beginning to become an issue the overall mood of the square was a good one. I hopped the PATH to Hoboken at around 11:00 and arrived back at the apartment to find Ben preparing for the last full night of sleep he anticipated having for quite some time. Time to rest up, Macy's fireworks and revelry to come on the 4th...
